My husband is a ROCK STAR. Unless you are an Apple-tapping, jQuery-loving, Twitterific computer geek, you may not realize this. But his fans do. The middle cat in the photo is named Swedberg.
The other two are named Resig and Bango, after John Resig, the wunderkind creator of jQuery, and Rey Bango, who apparently is the George Clooney of the jQuery cabal.
What’s next? Panties in the mail?

Ha! You’re funny, Sara.
By the way, everyone, the guy who named the cat after me is Joel Birch, a web developer in Australia and a jQuery stud in his own right.
Props to Joel in Australia! Joel, do excuse the panties reference. Very inappropriate. I love the cats, and definitely think Karl got the cutest namesake. We’d have cats too, but our resident JQuery man is, as we say, “Allergic.”
FRIGGIN HILAR!
Hi Sara and Karl. I am Swedberg’s foster mum and i have uploaded his new photo upon Flickr. You can follow your very own kittie at http://www.flickr.com/photos/kittiecatd/
PS i think he will be receiving catnip in the mail not panties 😉
Catherine!
Thanks for the link — we do want to follow Swedberg’s childhood years. Should we be setting up an education savings account for him? Putting aside money for a future laptop? I’m sure he’s quite bright. 🙂
Karl tells me you’re in Australia, which is the main object of my extreme travel fantasies right now. Tell us where in your lovely country and we’ll put a pin on the kitchen map!
Perhaps Swedberg should do a book tour? Sign copies of the book with a paw print?
Hi Sara! We are in Elsternwick (suburb), Melbourne (city), Victoria (state), Australia. Come and visit any time…i’m sure there will be a foster kittie or two, to welcome you 😀 Swedberg is doing really well and becoming such a snuggley boy! I am under instructions to spend any money on catnip. Those crazy kits! 😉
Catherine,
How are you all doing?! The fires in Melbourne are huge news here. Hoping you all stay safe.
Sara
Duuuuude. Karl, you rock. Almost as much as your wife!
Hi Sara, we are city dwellers and the fires are mostly in our country areas but some have been very close to the city edge suburbs. It is simply horrendous to see and hear it all and oh so sad the lost of life. Last night i took in some more foster kitties from another carer who was fleeing from their home under treat, just to be safe, fires too close for comfort. My dad is in area where there have been some fires too so of course that’s a worry but if i can quote Joel… “isn’t the internet awesome”. Being able to check fire updates and warning and maps and have all relevant information at your fingertips is comforting. So much help has been pouring in from locals, strangers and world neighbours alike. i have heard of many million dollar donations from bank and businesses so that is very uplifting. i think everyone has been touched by this event in some way… i can not begin to think what it would be like to fight a fire, let alone try to escape from one. So many of the firefighters are volunteers… they are heros in my books! Anywho rest assured Swedberg and jQuittens are all safe and sound and thank you for your concern. xox
Given the gender of most programmers, wouldn’t that be tighy-whiteys in the mail? And, really, who would want that?
Nothing against namer of kitties, who (now that I’ve read all the comments) clearly is a woman — many fine and wonderful programmers are female.
hi Natalie… namer of kittens is a male programmer… i am the foster mum 😉
PS Swedberg has graduated ( returned to the shelter ready for adoption) and i will let you know when he is adopted 😀
UPDATE… Swedberg has been adopted… yipeee! 😀 thank you for your interest in him 😉
