I just watched Masterpiece Theatre’s new production of The Diary of Anne Frank. Wonderful: amazing, vivid script, wonderful acting, incredible, claustrophobic set design. I haven’t read that book since I was 12 — watching the film reignited my interest and led me to this book. Every chapter is simply a first person accounting of a child’s experience as a Jew in Nazi Europe. HARROWING.
