March

I LOVE Geraldine Brooks.  Started with The People of the Book and have now devoured March, her imaginings of the other side of my favorite childhood book Little Women.  Brooks creates the story of the March patriarch who, in Little Women, spends most of the book away serving as a Union chaplain in the Civil War.  WHY did my history teachers not just let me learn history through well-written, well-researched fiction?  Loved this one.  Lucy and I are going to read Little Women as soon as we’re done with The Hunger Games.
