I’d never heard of Abigail Thomas. Anne Patchett says if I’m going to read just one book this year make it this one. And Anne Lamott says it may be the most honest book she’s ever read by one of the most beautiful writers she knows.  Thank God I never have to Pick Just One. Am putting Ms. Thomas’s other books on hold. This one reads like a series of diary entries. A series of insanely particular, smart, well-crafted diary entries that — wait for it — read like a book. It really was good.
