Of Mess and Moxie by Jen Hatmaker

I had a sour feeling about Jen Hatmaker when I read her book Seven.  I just didn’t think I needed to read why SHE wanted to spend seven months giving stuff up. I didn’t really want to spend a month eating the same food all the time or recycling a lot. Ok, actually, that one got me. You mean you don’t already? Like, all the time?! I didn’t need to read more Jen Hatmaker. I’m so glad God thought otherwise. Because he OBVIOUSLY had me in mind when she started writing Of Mess and Moxie maybe like 2 years ago so that I could read her chapter on Forgiveness for some wrong done me this summer. Right? Ok,really, thank you Suzi Bos (and God, who put her up to it) for telling me to read this book. And thank you library for not having a copy so that I would have to listen to the audio book. And thank you Jen Hatmaker for reading the whole ding dang thing in your hilarious earnest voice (which really works better when you hear it than read it really) which had me driving in loops around the neighborhood, not ready to pull into the driveway and turn her off. Her chapter on creativity? YES to that too. Her chapter on southern football culture? Well, that’s ok. I forgive her.
