The Woman I Wanted To Be

I didn’t know anything about Diane VonFurstenberg except that she was the designer who made the wrap dress famous and that she is Anderson Cooper’s mother. And I was wrong about that last part.  That’s Gloria Vanderbilt.  Anyway, there is something delightful about a memoir written by an alien from another plant who never apologizes for being from another planet or perhaps doesn’t even KNOW there are other planets, such as the Earth that I and every single one of my friends and People I’ve Ever Met Even Once inhabit. Diane is from the planet Fashion or maybe Jet-Set, not sure. She generously offers all the details of her life plus lessons learned along the way which should be useful to all the other immigrants from Fashion and Jet-Set or the Earthlings who want to pretend they are. Disarmingly delightful.
