My favorite Book of the Month selection so far. Decca Aitkenhead’s husband Tony dies while trying to save their young son from drowning on a Jamaican beach. She is so staunchly honest about him and her responses to his death. What a gift. Thank you, Ms. Aitkenhead. Hard for me to read her reflections on the effects of her mother’s death by breast cancer when she was 10 and hard for me to read about being widowed at age 41. Is there enough patience and compassion for those of us who are in relationships by those so wounded?
