Year of Wonders: A Novel of the Plague Another Brooks book. SO readable, so interesting. A novel about the plague. Who knew that could be a fascinating subject matter? Off to find my next Brooks book….

Chains

Melissa, Ava, and Grace recommended this to me and Lucy. Set in 1770s colonial America, Chains tells the tale of child slave Isabel Gardener and the larger tale of the conflict between loyalists to King George and rebel followers of the Other George which led to the Birth of the United States.

People of the Book

People of the Book: A Novel What a great storyteller Ms. Brooks is! I’ll be reading her other books for sure. This one follows the real and imagined-by-Brooks journey of a Jewish prayerbook over the last 600 years. Couldn’t put it down.
